I am writing a book! OK, I am going to write a book. I’ve been working on it for years. Well, I’ve thought about it for years. It’s about the art of procrastination. Don’t we all have that “thing” that we want to do, but just haven’t started yet? Come on, be real, be honest!
It can be the simple things… like writing that next blog… or getting that newsletter sent out for that special event… or both! Yes, I’m behind on things like that! OK, here come the excuses: I had my knee replaced in June of 2024, took some time to recuperate, and now it’s time to catch up on those outdoor projects while the weather is still nice and the snow isn’t falling. I can add many more reasons of course!
So, do we really procrastinate, or are we just too busy that we don’t have the time? Maybe we just don’t make some things a priority and then never get to it? I mean, what is really important? What projects are you behind on? I don’t understand why my wife has to remind me every 6 months to complete something! Crazy, right?! Why are you behind on it? What is your excuse? Are you lazy like me and just haven’t gotten around to it? My mother had a circle with the letters “TUIT” in the center of the circle. She got a Round Tuit!
Too busy? Too much on your plate? How does one arrange the priorities? Oh, how to find that proper balance in one’s life? What is important to you? What may be important to one may not be important to someone else. Will I get in trouble here? Now we’re delving into relationships. What is important in relationships? Whether it’s a relationship with a co-worker, a neighbor, close friend, or family, relationships are important. According to what I’ve read recently there are many people that are lonely in spite of all of the social media choices. If you are lonely, don’t procrastinate any more and get out! Call that person that you’ve been meaning to call. Schedule that date with your spouse! Re-ignite that flame that was once there. Laugh a little. Live a lot!
Of course as co-owner of a Chapel Valley Estate Bed & Breakfast, we can offer that solution right here! We are having our annual Chapel Valley Christmas which is an Artisan Market and Open House. Come shop with many of the vendors that set up their shop throughout the facility, including the guest rooms, dining room, event room, sauna room, and common areas. While you’re here shopping, take in the beauty of the design and architecture of the facility. It is on Saturday, November 23rd from 10 AM-4 PM and Sunday, November 24th from 10 AM – 3 PM. The event is free except for what you buy and the food you eat (but there will be free samples of coffee)! More information can be found on our website. Hope to see you here!
